Technical Support Officer

Nottingham, United Kingdom

£35,000 - £45,000

Monday to Friday | Full-Time In-Office | Flexible Working Hours | 12 pm Finish on Fridays

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced technical professional with a background in light engineering and manufacturing. The company, based in Nottingham, is actively seeking a Technical Support Officer to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides cross-functional technical support to colleagues within the organisation.
  • Conducts technical investigations and analyses, offering informed recommendations.
  • Demonstrates proven project management skills, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
  • Applies extensive experience in a light engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Possesses an excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Anticipates and recognises problems, implementing complex problem-solving initiatives.
  • Communicates technical information effectively, both verbally and in written English, internally and externally.
  • Analyses customer aspirations, interpreting input data to provide cost-effective and technically appropriate solutions.
  • Undertakes the management of the Company's quality management system.
  • Contributes to the development of the role and imparts knowledge to colleagues.
  • Produces, submits, and maintains technical reports and applications.
  • Utilises MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, SAP, and Projects.

Requirements of the Role/Personal Attributes:

  • Brings proven experience working within a technical/manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with the UK MoD supplier environment.
  • Highly organised with the ability to plan and manage multifaceted tasks.
  • Methodical and flexible within a small, dynamic team.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working at various levels.
  • Demonstrates excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Proficient in using MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, SAP, and Projects.
  • Capable of working under their initiative within a small team environment.
  • Willing to travel independently to other sites in the UK and overseas.
  • A suitable engineering qualification is preferred, but consideration is given to relevant experience.
  • Highly customer-focused with a commitment to delivering effective solutions.
  • Holds a valid clean UK Driving license.
  • Holds a valid passport.
