Data Engineer (Oracle / SQL) - Up to £55,000 - Leicester
Monday Friday, 9am 5pm - Permanent

Macildowie is delighted to collaborate with a global retailer to recruit a Data Engineer to join their growing team finance team.

The key objective is to support the delivery of data cleansing and data migration solutions as part of the finance transformation programme working with large data sets, extracting data into Oracle whilst being able to comfortably query and script SQL data.

Main Responsibilities

• Working with legacy systems to extract data into the businesses new Oracle system.
• Nurture and implement data pipelines that extract, transform and load data using into our clients Oracle environment for use with reporting tools such as Power BI and Excel.
• Collaborate with the wider Data/IT teams to create and maintain the performance of the businesses data warehouse.
• Support and maintain data pipelines implementing ELT processes to automate tasks and streamline data delivery processes.
• Analyse and review complex and large data sets, systems, data flow, dependencies and relationships.
• Develop and maintain data cleansing scripts, queries, and procedures to automate tasks and streamline data delivery processes.
• Build bespoke ad hoc PowerBI dashboards for stakeholders in finance and the wider group, ensuring the BI is user engaging and tells a story.

The Candidate

• Previous experience working in a Data Engineering position or equivalent.
• Comfortably able to write SQL scrips and work with large and complex data sets.
• Skilled user of Oracle based systems.
• Exposure to PowerBI.
• Able to commute to Leicester.
• ERP system implementation experience, preferably Oracle.
