Semi-Senior Tax Compliance | £25,000-£35,000 DOE | Leicester/Hybrid | Full-Time

I am delighted to be recruiting for an established and reputable accountancy practice based in Leicester, who are dedicated to providing exceptional financial services and expert advice to their clients. With a strong focus on client satisfaction, they offer a comprehensive range of accounting, tax, and business advisory services. As they continue to grow, I am seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join the team as a Semi-Senior Tax Compliance professional.

The Role

As a Semi-Senior Tax Compliance professional, you will play a crucial role in supporting clients with their tax compliance needs. You will work closely with the experienced tax team, assisting with the preparation and submission of tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations and legislation.

The Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing tax computations and tax returns for a portfolio of clients, including individuals, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely submission of tax returns to the relevant tax authorities.
  • Conducting research on tax laws, regulations, and rulings to ensure compliance and provide guidance to clients.
  • Assisting clients with tax-related queries and provide expert advice on tax planning and mitigation strategies.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation and communicating their impact to clients and colleagues.
  • Liaising with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) on behalf of clients, resolving any queries or issues.
  • Working with colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvements and contributing to the overall growth and success of the tax department.

The Candidate

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in tax compliance within an accountancy practice or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in using tax software and accounting systems (e.g., CCH, Sage, Xero, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately within deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and interpret complex tax regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • ATT or CTA qualification (or working towards qualification) is highly desirable.
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with a commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
