Job Description

Position: Purchase Ledger Assistant

Location: Coventry, Warwickshire

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per year

Term: Permanent, Full-Time - 37.5 hours per week, flexible hours

Study Support available, 25 days + statutory holidays, bonus scheme, and non-contributory pension

Macildowie are pleased to be partnered with an inclusive and growing company based in Coventry, who are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant with high-volume processing experience to join their supportive team in this busy role. You will be part of a small, easy-going team of 5 employees within Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Invoice scanning and ensuring invoices are sent to the correct budget holder to be approved
  • Preparation of supplier reconciliations to supplier statements
  • Invoice query resolution with suppliers as well as other stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Ensure all invoices and other payment requests are inputted correctly and checked for accuracy as promptly as possible
  • Ensure unauthorised invoices can be traced and queries are resolved quickly
  • Maintain all payments through bank to the Purchase Ledger
  • Identification of areas where improvements can be made to Purchase Ledger processes and take responsibility for their implementation
  • Obtain signatories for payments and BACS
  • Management of Direct Debits, and control of cash-flows to ensure effective forecasting and reporting

We are looking for:

  • Essential - Experience working in a Purchase Ledger role, processing large volumes of invoices
  • Essential - Good understanding of the finance function and Purchase Ledger systems
  • Essential - Interrogation of Purchase Ledger queries and discrepancies
  • Essential - Impressive organisation and time-management skills
  • Desirable - Qualified in either AAT Level 2, 3 or 4
  • Desirable - Experience working on/ knowledge of the Navision system
  • Desirable - Manufacturing industry experience
