Purchase Ledger Clerk

Location: Retford

Reporting to: Financial Controller

Employment Type: Temporary (Until December)

Working Hours: Full-Time, Hybrid Working (3 Days In Office, 2 Days at Home)

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Hourly Rate: £11-£12

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking for a temporary opportunity in the education sector? We have an immediate opening for a Purchase Ledger Clerk based in Retford. As a key member of the finance team, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial transactions and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices and purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices.
  • Maintain a well-organised filing system for financial documents.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Controller on various financial tasks and projects.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of financial processes within the education sector (desirable but not essential).

Working Environment:

This is a full-time, temporary position with a hybrid working model. You will work three days a week in our Retford office and have the flexibility to work from home on the remaining two days. The working hours are either 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
