Finance Manager | £45,000 - £50,000 | Burton-on-Trent | Office based with flexibility

Macildowie are supporting a local employer that has operations across various sites globally, to recruit a Finance Manager for a £5m turnover UK division. You will be responsible for providing management accounts, insight and analysis for the division. Working with the business to ensure that drivers of performance are understood and to support in decision making. This is a stand-alone finance role, with exposure to everything, including (small amounts) of ledger work and Credit Control.

Another aspect to the role is to oversee logistics and procurement, there are small amounts of work to be done to focus on stock levels and accuracy around how stock is booked/distributed. So key relationships will be required all over the business, but especially with Sales/Commercial and logistics (the company uses a 3rd party logistics firm). As with any SME role, this is hands on and involved in lots of elements of the business, so you will need to be someone who is happy to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in.

So what is the job?

  • Production of monthly management accounts pack
  • Production of group reporting pack
  • Production of daily and weekly cash reports and debtor report
  • Overview of monthly stock report
  • Overview of monthly AV variance analysis by customer
  • Stock and wastage, including ordering of stock and logistics around its transport and collaborating with suppliers/3rd party logistics
  • Production of budgets (with MD)
  • Financial Accounts preparation
  • Preparation of year end audit file and manage the audit
  • Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
  • Fixed asset register
  • CAPEX approval records
  • Overhead expenditure
  • Yearly stock audit
  • Monitor customer credit limits and authorisation
  • Inter-company balances with Group and UK MD
  • Bank reconciliations, including multi-currency adjustments
  • Monitor and approve purchase orders, in collaboration with Procurement team
  • BU and cost centre performance
  • Balance sheet KPI's
  • Purchase ledger and credit control
  • Monthly VAT/PAYE returns, EC sales listings

What are you like?

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Knowledge of Financial accounts to UKGAAP or IFRS
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Experience of working in a commercial sales environment with a logistics arm (desirable)
  • Experience working with an International Group (desirable)
  • Best practice mind-set
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to build relationships and influence others to achieve results
  • Be a true team player, yet self-motivated
  • Ability to prioritise workload
