Payment Clerk | Temporary | Leicester | Up To £13ph
An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen for a Payment Clerk to join a dynamic Finance team. This role is perfect for an individual with keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Role Highlights:

- Hybrid working: Wednesday in the office
- Employment Type: Temporary (Minimum 3 months)
- Salary: Up to £13 per hour
Responsibilities: In the role of Payment Clerk, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the payments process. Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring the inbox for supplier invoices and statements, ensuring they are accurately sorted and saved.
- Posting supplier invoices on SAP for a seamless three-way match.
- Addressing blocked or parked invoices promptly to maintain supplier payment timelines.
- Serving as the point of contact for invoice queries, liaising with suppliers and various stakeholders.
- Ensuring supplier statements are reconciled, particularly during year-end audits.
- Methodically labelling and storing all supplier invoices on SAP.
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing of student payments and other ad-hoc requests.
- Cultivating strong relationships with colleagues and external contacts.
- Investigating and resolving issues, escalating when necessary.
- Collaborating with the P2P team to facilitate smooth payment processes.

Qualifications:
- English and Maths GCSE at grade C/Level 4 or equivalent (Essential)
- Previous experience in high-volume transaction processing (Essential)
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems (Essential)
- Experience in the Higher Education sector or public entities (Desirable)
- Attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions (Essential)
Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines (Essential)
- Methodical approach to administrative tasks (Essential)
- Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal) (Essential)
- Ability to handle queries and complaints professionally (Essential)
- Team player with the confidence to manage workload (Essential)
- Knowledge of Data Protection Act and GDPR (Desirable)
