Macildowie Finance are supporting a globally recognised manufacturing business in the energy sector. They are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant into their team on a permanent basis. Working from their UK office in Derby and reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, you'll work closely with the wider Finance Team to support various financial operations and contribute to the overall efficiency of the team. The size of the business means they are able to offer exposure to various areas of the finance function that will help to build on your existing skills.

What is the job?

• Assist in the day-to-day financial operations, including but not limited to processing journals, managing timesheets, tracking expenses, and handling invoices.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of grant claims and associated reports.
• Work closely with the Senior Commercial Finance Manager and Finance Business Partners, to ensure the accurate and timely completion of financial tasks. Collaborate with the wider finance team on various financial operations, contributing to a cohesive and efficient working environment.
• Collaborate with the team to track, chase, and manage timesheets and expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring all adjustments and journals are accurately reflected on the system and customer accounts.
• Monitor and manage SAP payment dates, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Perform ad hoc balance sheet reconciliations, actively resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.
• Assist in the preparation of detailed financial reports and statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Embrace a diverse range of tasks, contributing to a well-rounded understanding of accounting responsibilities.

What are you like?

• 2-3 years of relevant finance experience.
• Either part or fully AAT Qualified
• Strong interest in finance with a keen desire to learn and grow within the role.
• Collaborative mindset with the flexibility to work in a dynamic team environment. Willingness to contribute to the team's success and adapt to evolving responsibilities.

• Salary of £25,000 - £31,000 + 7% Bonus
