Senior Finance Analyst | £50,000 - £55,000 + Bonus potential | Swadlincote

Macildowie are supporting a local employer with c£300m turnover that has operations across various sites, to recruit a Senior Finance Analyst. Working from the UK head office in Swadlincote, you'll collaborate with the Financial Accounting team, to increase the company's efficiency, effectiveness and profitability through forecasting and financial analysis. Reporting into the Head of Finance and supporting with some critical reporting, this role has the opportunity to develop and build a strong skill-set for your career.

Whilst the business doesn't have a contractual hybrid working policy, they are flexible around a day a week from home (their core office days are tues/weds/thurs)- but expect to be in most of the time for training and inductions..etc.

So what is the job?

  • Collaborating closely with Senior Managers to create models that facilitate planning, budgeting, and forecasting support.
  • Working alongside Business Unit heads to construct annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Developing models for projecting long-term growth and assessing the key factors influencing business outcomes.
  • Analysing both financial and operational results to gain deeper insights into company performance.
  • Employing BI tools to convey meaningful insights regarding business performance.
  • Articulating to senior management the underlying reasons behind performance and results.
  • Offering detailed analysis and commentary on the results of business units.
  • Assessing the business landscape and recommending initiatives for cost savings.
  • Formulating business cases to substantiate new investments, strategic decisions, and other business choices.
  • Collaborating with the Financial Accounting team to review existing processes, drive process improvements, and enhance systems.
  • Assisting the Company's Tender process by furnishing the Commercial team with pertinent financial advice.
  • Acting as a deputy for the Financial Controller when required.

What are you like?

  • Concise and the ability to story tell to translate complex analyses into simple actionable management information across all levels of the organisation
  • Strong analytical skill with a logical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills
  • Excel expertise
  • Detail orientated and organised, with the ability to manage multiple deliveries and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaboration - cultivate an environment of collaboration, innovation and sharing of ideas with ability to work individually and within a team
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and financial modelling
  • Accounting qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
  • Strong track record of delivery of tasks and process improvements, including to tight deadlines
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication, teamwork and influencing skills
