Are you looking for a fresh start as we approach the New Year?

Macildowie are partnered with a well-established and promising company that has fantastic relationships with clients/customers across the U.K. We are looking for a full-time, permanent Accounts Assistant to work as part of a small finance team based in Coventry.

This company encourages direct progression and this position has the potential to develop into a more senior role if you are a success during your time here. We will also consider experienced Accounts Assistant candidates who are not looking for progression. Please note that the below list is not exhaustive and you will be expected to perform different tasks as your role develops within the organisation along with the overall business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Sales and Purchase Ledgers - ensure all information is correctly processed and queries are handled appropriately
  • Overseeing the preparation of accounts and bank balance information
  • Daily invoicing to customers, and send out service code invoices for approval
  • Processing expense claims, set up and verify supplier accounts
  • Control account reconciliations / credit card reconciliations
  • Dealing with supplier/customer queries
  • Chasing customers for overdue payments when required and raise any concerns over aged debt
  • Running credit reports
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT returns
  • Month end duties to include rolling the sales/purchase ledger and produce month end reports

You will need:

  • Recent experience as an Accounts Assistant / undertaking Purchase Ledger & Sales Ledger responsibilities
  • Excel skills to an intermediate level (ideally with v-lookup and pivot table knowledge)
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical skills
  • Effective communicator at all levels
  • Willingness to get involved with a variety of responsibilities to assist the wider team

This role will be in high-demand with the salary range and potential progression opportunities involved, as well as the fact this is an attractive team and company to partner with.
