Position: Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant

Location: Solihull, West Midlands

Hybrid Working: 2 days per week working from home, 3 days per week in the office

Salary: £25,000

Duration: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours weekly)

Macildowie are partnered with a proven and employee-centric company based in the Solihull area, who are recruiting for a Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant with previous Payroll experience to join their small team of 6 in Accounts. Whilst you will be part of a small team, this role can be very busy and the office has a lively feel to it. The candidate we are looking for can either come from a commercial or accountancy firm background - we are happy to receive applications from a variety of Accounts/Payroll backgrounds across different industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in processing the weekly/monthly Payroll Admin and any SSP, SMP, PAYE payments
  • As you will be reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you must assist with the preparation of relevant financial information when required and months end reporting
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Process legal completion journals
  • Liaise with internal/external stakeholders to be assured all financial statements are issues in an accurate and timely manner
  • Balance sheet reconciliations (monthly)

What we need from you:

  • A sound understanding and previous experience in a Payroll position or a Bookkeeping/Accounts Assistant position that includes some Payroll processing - everything else is teachable!
  • Accurate processing skills
  • Open personality and willingness to support your team when needed
  • Previous experience utilising a Payroll and/or HR system7
