Management Accountant | £35,000 - £40,000 | Burton-upon-Trent | Exciting Hospitality Business

Are you looking for a rewarding role as a Management Accountant in a vibrant setting at the heart of the hospitality industry?

Macildowie Finance are supporting a well-established, listed company in the hospitality industry. They are looking to recruit a Management Accountant into their dynamic and collaborative finance team based in Burton upon Trent. Working alongside the Finance Business Partners, Operations Managers, FP&A Manager and the wider finance team, this role perfectly blends period-end accounting, strategic analysis, and business partnering into a well-rounded role with exposure to key functions across the business.

What is the job?

  • Leading the period end process by preparing, calculating and posting periodic accrual and prepayment journals accurately in order to produce P&Ls to the highest quality.
  • Periodic review of P&Ls with the Divisional Finance Business Partner, investigating any areas of concern.
  • Business Partnering to Operations Managers, leading on P&L queries and structuring agreements for new partners.
  • Periodic production of balance sheet reconciliations to company standards.
  • Support with any ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Production and development of Weekly/Periodic Reporting, that provides key strategic insight on the performance of the Division/Region/Area/Sites.
  • Support the team in providing effective business insight/analysis to support the wider business in driving performance and making our business more successful.
  • Add value to the team by identifying and sharing potential opportunities to improve current processes.
  • Lead on projects, collaborating with external teams.
  • Opportunity to attend Regional Meetings, presenting Financial Performance and key analysis/insight.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to build rapport and develop relationships with both Finance and Non-Finance stakeholders.
  • Proactive attitude towards personal development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with large data sets.
