The following outstanding role is an excellent opportunity for Accounts Assistants / Finance Assistants to naturally progress into an Assistant Management Accountant role whilst you study:

Position: Finance Assistant / Junior Assistant Management Accountant

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 (with annual salary reviews)

Location: Coventry (CV1) - very accessible from transport routes in Leicester and Birmingham

Term: Full-time, Permanent - 35 hours per week

Team size: 4 within Accounts/Finance

We are looking to receive applications from Finance Assistants that want to train to be a Management Accountant/Assistant Accountant over the next year and beyond. You have the opportunity to be undertaking higher-level responsibilities as soon as 3 months after your start date!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Accounts Payable inbox - coding, processing and reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Credit Card expenditure processing and accurate control of staff expenses
  • Assist the Management Accountant with the preparation of the monthly management accounts packs
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Posting of payments and daily analysis of company accounts and full reconciliations
  • Liaise with external and internal stakeholders at all levels

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years within a Transactional Accounts role as either a Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger or general Accounts/Finance Assistant
  • Ideally will currently be studying towards an Accountancy qualification
  • A good understanding of Accounting concepts and principles
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Experience using Sage (not essential)
  • Self-motivated, confident, flexibility when required, and willingness to learn/develop new skills
  • Willingness to come into the office 5 days per week
