Senior Financial Accountant | Castle Donington (Hybrid) | up to £70,000 + very strong benefits

This role is hybrid and will be a rough 3/2 split office/home working (although flex is required a peak business times)

Are you an experienced and qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA professional looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic Financial Accounting role? We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant.

General Description of Role: As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate accounting and control of inventory for the business. Your responsibilities will include reviewing currency requirements, preparing hedging forecasts, reporting on working capital, leading forecasting/budget cycles, and actively participating in the statutory accounts process. Your expertise will contribute to continuous improvements in balance sheet control.

Scope or Scale:

  • Ownership and control of inventory balances, including Finished Goods, Raw Materials & Packaging.
  • Assessment of provision requirements, accounting for obsolescence when necessary.
  • Review and analysis of the cycle count process at manufacturing sites.
  • Challenge and improvement of balance sheet reconciliations across the finance team.
  • Accounting for Holding Company Transactions.
  • Working capital forecasting and monthly reporting.
  • Contribution towards our goal of becoming a Great Place to Work

Duties and Responsibilities:

KPIs/Objectives:

  • Complete accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  • On-time accurate month-end reporting.
  • Ensure working capital accuracy.

Profile Job Holder: Qualifications/Education/Training:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified (Essential).

Experience:

  • Quality experience in a Financial Accounting team of a similar size business
  • Previous responsibility for inventory reporting, ideally within a manufacturing business.

Knowledge:

  • Excellent Technical Accounting Knowledge & up-to-date with recent legislations and accounting standards
  • Intermediate MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • SAP knowledge (Desirable).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Reliably accurate, meeting strict deadlines
  • Identifying problems at an early stage, excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent planning skills, highly effective communicator
