Senior Management Accountant | Burton-on-Trent | £45,000 - £50,000 + Bonus | Office-Based | Exciting Hospitality Business

Macildowie Finance are supporting a well-established, listed company in the hospitality industry. They are looking to recruit a Senior Management Accountant into their dynamic and collaborative finance team based in Burton upon Trent. Reporting to the FP&A Manager and working alongside the operations team, property team, IT team and wider finance team; this role perfectly blends management of the month-end process, production of budgeting and forecasting, strategic analysis, and business partnering into a well-rounded role with exposure to all key functions across the business.

What is the job?

  • Collaborate closely with the Finance team to produce P&Ls to the highest quality through booking journals and reviewing P&Ls.
  • Periodically review the Balance Sheet for all sites to ensure transparency and accurate documentation.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Operations Directors and Department Managers to actively contribute to cost reduction and sales growth initiatives.
  • Efficiently manage month-end reporting processes, ensuring timely population of local reporting software and supporting a five-day period close.
  • Develop site-specific Budgets and re-forecast P&Ls as necessary, playing a crucial role in strategic financial planning.
  • Support the FP&A Manager on all daily and weekly sales reporting and support in the production of Board level reporting packs.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis as required by the FP&A Manager.
  • Develop and maintain a scorecard to monitor the performance of each site whilst providing key strategic insight to our Operations team.
  • Proactively generate new business insights, enabling Operations Managers to swiftly identify potential areas for improvement.
  • Ability to recognise and quickly respond to the wider business activity and objectives, identifying ways in which the wider Finance function can support.
  • Liaise with field operations and internal support teams to help drive profitability and decision making.
  • Support junior team members in their career progression, offering mentorship and guidance with professional exam study where required.

What are you like?

  • CIMA / ACCA Qualified (or equivalent recognised qualification)
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and autonomy, proficient at working independently and flexibly contributing to team support.
  • Effective planning and organisational skills to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to establish rapport and cultivate crucial relationships.
  • Takes a proactive stance towards personal training, development, and progression.
  • Shows the ability to inspire and develop individuals within a team.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and experienced in handling large data sets.
