Payroll Administrator
Job Description
Payroll Administrator| Full Time | Permanent| Leicester | Salary Up To £30,000 per annum
Macildowie are excited to be working with a fantastic industry leading company based in Leicester who are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join their team.
The Role
To deliver efficient and effective payroll administration support, encompassing payroll and benefit processes within the payroll team. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for ensuring precise processing of wages, salaries, and other forms of compensation for their assigned payroll sites. Maintaining proactive and positive relationships with key customers ensuring timely resolution of queries.
What will you be doing?
- Process all amendments via Workday or directly post them to the payroll system (iTrent) before the payroll deadline.
- Inform relevant stakeholders of any missing data, ensuring completion on Workday and receipt in iTrent before the payroll deadline.
- Review errors, exceptions, and elements reports, reconciling them to the final payroll.
- Update the system for all leave types, ensuring accurate pay calculations.
- Accurately process pension deductions in line with Auto-enrolment and Pensions Salary Sacrifice/Exchange procedures.
- Enter all documentation for new starters and leavers into the payroll system.
- Distribute P45s, Statements of Earnings, and other required documentation.
- Assist the finance team with payroll reconciliation.
- Respond promptly to general queries from the Payroll Admin inbox.
- Assist in the preparation and issuance of P60s to employees, providing details to the Inland Revenue by the required deadline.
- Support other team members as needed, including the weekly payroll and internal and external audit.

Requirements

- Ensure delivery of Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.

- Highlight any recurring issues.
- Stay informed about relevant Payroll legislation.
- Participate in internal/external training courses as required.
- Keep abreast of new technology and system developments.
Essential Skills:
- Understanding of UK payroll practices/procedures, including legislative requirements.
- Ability to perform complex payroll calculations, including family leaves and tax calculations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills, accuracy, and task management to meet deadlines.
- Proactive problem-solving approach.
- Understanding of systems and ability to apply relevant knowledge.
- Enthusiastic and flexible approach.
- Commitment to both self and organisational development.
- Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Calmness and focus under pressure.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and proficient use of Excel.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge and experience using iTrent and Workday.
- Experience in HR shared services.
- Experience working on multiple payrolls.
