Senior Cost Analyst | £45,000 - £50,000 + Bonus| Burton-on-Trent | NASDAQ-Listed Company | Hybrid

Are you skilled in cost analysis and financial planning, seeking a role where your expertise can truly shine? As a Senior Cost Analyst, working within a completely brand new team, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on operations, projects, and products through meticulous financial analysis and strategic insights. You will collaborate with various departments to gather cost data, conduct financial analysis, and provide insights to support decision-making processes. You will work closely with the procurement team to evaluate supplier pricing, negotiate contracts, and identify cost-saving opportunities throughout the supply chain. What is the job?

  • Cost Analysis: Analyse cost data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for optimisation and cost reduction.
  • Financial Impact Evaluation: Conduct thorough cost-benefit analysis for business decisions and initiatives.
  • Reporting and Presentation: Prepare insightful reports, including variance analysis and forecasting. Present findings and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Supplier Pricing and Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate supplier pricing and negotiate contracts. Identify cost-saving opportunities throughout the supply chain and implement strategies to realise these savings.
  • Cost Benchmarking: Conduct comprehensive benchmarking analyses by comparing individual cost categories within the organisation to industry standards and market trends.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives, best practices, and process improvements to enhance cost efficiency and accuracy.
  • Automation: Develop and automate reports to streamline data analysis and reporting processes.
  • Communication: Communicate complex financial insights to non-financial stakeholders effectively.

What are you like?

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Either ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
  • Strong skills in financial modelling, data analysis tools (Excel, SQL), and experience with ERPs/forecasting software (D365 and adaptive).
  • Sharp analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, conveying financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
