My client a growing business based in Wellingborough is looking to recruit an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. Hybrid/flexible working is available with this role.

The Assistant Accountant will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and contribute to the overall success of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets under the guidance of the Management Accountant.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support the finance team in conducting financial analysis and variance reporting to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting-related inquiries and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Experience:

• Studying either ACCA/CIMA/ACA
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
