Management (General Ledger) Accountant | £32,000 - £39,000 | Alfreton | Forward-Thinking Global Leader

Macildowie Finance are currently supporting a growing global business in their search for a Management (General Ledger) Accountant Working from their office in Alfreton,

You will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of the company's general ledger. Your primary responsibility will be to manage general ledger accounting processes, including month-end and year-end close activities. In this role, you will be instrumental in reconciling balance sheet accounts, preparing journal entries, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support audit activities.

What is the job?

  • General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger accounting processes, including month-end/year-end close activities and AP transactions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret financial information.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams within the UKI/EUA Region to gather financial information and support audit activities.
  • Auditing: Conduct audits on financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Align general ledger accounting practices to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Data Management: Enter financial data into the ledger on a monthly basis, including accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications. Perform account analysis and reconcile balance sheet accounts.

Who are you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent working experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (ACA / ACCA fully qualified or international equivalent) with significant experience in UK/US GAAP.
  • 3-4 years of experience in general ledger accounting or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
