Company Accountant | £40,000 - £45,000 | Burton on Trent | Global Leader | Hybrid Working

Macildowie Finance is supporting a global business in their recruitment of a Company Accountant for their site in Burton on Trent. You will be responsible for delivering key financial data to the leadership team whilst ensuring compliance with relevant reporting standards, having a real impact on the operational efficiency of the site and wider UK Group. What is the job?

  • Month-End Management Accounts: Lead the accurate and timely submission of month-end management accounts, ensuring compliance and precision in financial reporting.
  • Accounts Receivable and Cash Forecasting: Oversee accounts receivable operations and deliver accurate weekly cash flow forecasts for the UK group, contributing to effective financial management and planning.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct monthly variance analysis, comparing actual financial performance against budget and forecasts to identify and report critical insights.
  • Budget Communication: Communicate overhead expenditure against budget to relevant budget holders on a monthly basis, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial planning.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Reporting: Manage all aspects of internal and external reporting, including statutory accounts, VAT returns, National Statistics submissions, among others, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Annual Tax Reporting: Lead the preparation and completion of annual taxation reports for the operating unit, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Accounting Standards Compliance: Guarantee adherence to group accounting policies and statutory accounting standards, including UK and US GAAP, maintaining the highest levels of financial integrity.
  • Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance: Oversee Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements for the operating unit, ensuring robust internal controls and compliance.
  • Chart of Accounts Management: Manage the chart of accounts and cost centre structure, ensuring they align with the business's strategic objectives and financial reporting requirements.

What are you like?

  • Qualified by experience (QBE) or part/fully qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficient in financial data presentation, Microsoft Office applications, and MRP systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills, a proactive approach, and detail orientation.

  • Salary of £40,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)
  • Hybrid Working (2 days WFH)
