As a pivotal player in the finance team, you'll immerse yourself in the day-to-day financial operations, meticulously preparing month-end accounts and weekly contribution forecasts. This role extends beyond the numbers; it's about ensuring the smooth operation of weekly payroll, maintaining the fixed asset register, and sharpening forecasting models-all while keeping our client's financial strategy aligned with their ambitious growth objectives.

What's the job?

  • Month End Tasks - Prepare monthly management accounts with precision, overseeing all necessary reconciliations and journal postings to meet high standards of accuracy and timeliness. Oversee month-end invoice discounting reconciliations.
  • Cash Flow & Forecasting - Develop daily cash flow forecasts, contribute to annual forecasting models, and ensure financial transactions mirror the strategic objectives and budget.
  • Payroll - Accurately process weekly payrolls, maintaining accuracy.
  • EU & UK Exposure - Manage VAT and EU sales reporting
  • Supplier Claims - Handle supplier claims with tact, set up new customer accounts on our financial system.
  • Business Partnering - maintain a strong rapport with departmental managers to assist in cost benefit analysis and forecasting.
  • Supporting Tasks - assist in the upcoming ERP system implementation and provide ad-hoc support to the wider Finance team, contributing to a supportive culture.

What are we looking for?

  • You have a solid accounting background (3-5 years), preferably in a manufacturing background.
  • You may be QBE, but qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA is preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • As part of the upcoming ERP implementation, experience in Microsoft Dynamics365 would be preferred and beneficial but is by no means essential.
  • You should have exceptional attention to detail, be able to prioritise effectively, and demonstrate strong communication skills across all levels.
  • You're someone who thrives in both individual and team settings, always looking for ways to support your colleagues and drive efficiency and savings.
