Finance Business Partner | £33,000 - £38,000 | Rotherham | 5 Days Onsite | Leading Retailer

Macildowie Finance are currently working with a leading retailer and distributor to recruit a Finance Business Partner for their site in Rotherham. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will handle the complete monthly management accounting tasks for a prominent commercial entity including associated reporting and analysis. You have ownership of one entity within the group and will work closely with the warehousing and logistics team to actively reduce costs and manage Finances, so you should be a confident communicator and able to discuss your findings with non-Finance colleagues. This position is designed for a finance professional who loves finding out the 'why?' behind the numbers and is looking for something more than a standard Management Accounts role - this is one where you will have a direct impact on the business through your work.

What's the job?

  • Management Accounting: Produce monthly management accounts with supporting schedules, analyse variances against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, ensuring all nominal ledger balances are supported with clear and comprehensive documentation.
  • Asset & Cash Management: Maintain a robust fixed asset model and cash book, guarantee accurate and timely documentation, and perform daily bank reconciliations.
  • Transactional Oversight: Oversee the purchase ledger, ensuring all supplier data is meticulously maintained and all expenditures are authorised before ledger entry. Match invoices to purchase orders with precision.
  • Audit & Compliance: Prepare audit files for half-year and year-end, participate in stock takes to guarantee accuracy, and oversee the preparation of tax computation support documentation.
  • Operational Efficiency: Manage the margin reports, investigate pricing anomalies, and ensure invoicing accuracy. Conduct monthly stock reconciliations across multiple warehouse locations and identify improvement opportunities in finance and warehouse systems utilisation.
  • Financial Administration: Handle corporate credit card statements, ensuring all expenditures are authorised and properly accounted for, including VAT analysis.

What are you like?

  • 2-3 years' experience in the month-end/ management accounts process
  • Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA with the desire to become fully qualified
  • Proficient with Sage 200 and strong Excel skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities and ability to coordinate across departments.
  • A self-starter with a keen eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to accuracy and efficiency.


  • Salary of £33,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience)
