Head of Transactional Finance
Location: Newton Longville, Milton Keynes
Salary: £45,000 to £65,000 - Dependent on Industry Experience
Are you ready to take the lead in a thriving finance team at a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing site? This is your chance to join a well-established and growing business that plays a key role in feeding the nation, partnering with major retailers, and investing heavily in its people and operations.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Head of Transactional Finance to oversee and drive performance across the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cashbook teams. You'll work closely with the Senior Finance Manager and wider leadership to ensure smooth, efficient financial operations in a business that's producing over 650 tonnes of food every week-around 90% of which goes to a major UK supermarket.
This site operates at serious scale, with over 800 colleagues across factory and office functions working on both high-risk and low-risk production lines. It's fast, it's busy, and it's growing-with recent site expansions and significant investment driving ongoing performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the transactional finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial processing
- Oversee end-to-end purchase and sales ledger processes, ensuring strong controls and compliance
- Manage weekly payment runs and supplier relationships
- Work with the wider finance function to support reporting, budgeting and audits
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and automation
- Provide key support during month-end and year-end close processes
About You
- Strong experience in transactional finance, with a proven ability to lead teams in a high-volume environment
- Excellent attention to detail and process management skills
- Confident communicator with a collaborative mindset and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, operational setting with lots of moving parts
- Background in manufacturing, FMCG or supply chain environments preferred
Why Apply?
This is more than just a back-office role. You'll be joining a high-performing site within a group that truly invests in its future-backing its teams, facilities, and leadership. With a culture that values accountability, pace, and teamwork, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a respected and stable business.
