Job Description

A rare and compelling opportunity for an ACA-qualified finance leader to step into a pivotal Group Financial Director role within a high-growth, PE-backed engineering business.

As the right hand to the CFO, you'll take ownership of financial operations across multiple business units delivering disciplined financial control, strategic insight, and hands-on leadership in a technically rich, commercially ambitious environment.

Why this opportunity stands out:
- Private Equity Exposure: Play a key role in supporting growth, transformation and potential exit strategies in a PE-backed setting where pace and precision matter.
- Engineering & Innovation: Work at the financial heart of a complex, high-value engineering group where investment, product innovation and infrastructure upgrades are top of the agenda.
- Leadership with Impact: Lead a high-performing finance function, elevating standards, building bench strength, and embedding best-in-class financial practice.
- Strategic Voice: Influence direction on M&A activity, cashflow optimisation and financial modelling for decision-making at board level.

What you'll bring:
- ACA qualified with a strong technical grounding and commercial acumen.
- Proven experience in a PE-backed or investor-led environment, ideally with exposure to value creation plans and due diligence processes.
- Background in engineering, industrial or complex project-based businesses with multi-entity structures across multiple sites.
- Track record of leading and developing finance teams, navigating change and delivering high-quality financial reporting with no surprises.

Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow at Group level.
- Managing auditor, lender and banking relationships including reporting/compliance
- Leading M&A integration and financial transformation projects.
- Building a finance function ready for scale, scrutiny and strategic influence.

This is a career-defining role for a highly effective finance leader ready to step into the spotlight of a growing, PE-backed engineering group. You'll need pace, precision and presence plus the appetite to help shape a business that's growing both organically and through acquisition.
