Job Title: Part-Time Accounts Assistant - Temporary Sickness Cover (2/3 months)
Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Salary: £15.00 per hour (based on full-time equivalent)
Type: Part-time, 20 to 30 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday to Friday - Flexible on days, start, and finish times
About the Company:
This small, friendly business based in Corby is looking for someone to support their finance team during a period of sickness leave. If you're experienced in accounts and are looking for a flexible, part-time role where you can make a real difference, this could be the ideal opportunity. They use Sage for both their finance and payroll systems, so experience with this software is essential.
The Role:
As a Part-Time Accounts Assistant, you'll play a key role in keeping their day-to-day finance operations running smoothly. Working closely with the Finance Controller, you'll take ownership of both the purchase and sales ledgers, along with credit control responsibilities.
Main responsibilities include:
- Processing and posting purchase and sales invoices
- Matching purchase orders and handling credit notes
- Setting up and maintaining supplier and customer records
- Reconciling supplier statements and customer accounts
- Sending out remittance advices and customer statements
- Chasing overdue payments and managing credit control
- Dealing with supplier and customer queries professionally
- Supporting with general finance admin, filing, and ad hoc finance tasks
What They're Looking For:
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar finance or accounts role
- Confident using Sage (essential)
- Strong communication skills - comfortable speaking with suppliers and customers
- A proactive and organised approach with good attention to detail
