Finance Director (Divisional - SME)

Macildowie Executive Search are delighted to be partnering a growing construction business in their search for a Divisional Finance Director. The business is enjoying a well-earned and sustained period of growth and has many opportunities for the right candidate to add a lot of value both at personal, team, divisional and group level.

Reporting into the Divisional Managing Director, the successful candidate will be the custodian of the divisional finance strategy and outputs. The role will lead a small (capable) team who manage all transactional and value-add reporting. Additionally, it is an important part of the executive team in representing the division at Group Board level.

Key role requirements:

• A strong finance leader (ideally with FD experience) - must be fully qualified
• Must have experience in a business in the construction sector (ideally as a sub-contractor)
• The above is important as robust cash management across multiple contracts and projects is a key requirement
• An inclusive, engaging leadership style
• An ability to support the wider business with commercial decision-making
• The usual need for strong governance relating to reporting, cash management, investment insight, contract performance, budgeting etc
• A love of being in a "player-manager" role
