Permanent Accounts Payable Team Leader
Location: Central Milton Keynes (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Working Pattern: Up to 2 days a week from home, with flexible working hours
Macildowie is excited to be working with a well-established and respected business in Central Milton Keynes to find an experienced and proactive Accounts Payable Team Leader to join their finance team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with leadership experience to oversee a small but dynamic team, drive efficiency, and support in the development of key accounts payable processes.
About the Role:
As the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will oversee two Accounts Payable Assistants and report directly to the Finance Controller. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger, managing key business projects, resolving supplier disputes, and maintaining high standards in financial accuracy. The role also offers a degree of flexibility in terms of hours and hybrid working, allowing for a work-life balance that suits your needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase Ledger Ownership: Oversee the full process from receiving invoices to making payments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
- Team Leadership: Manage and support two Accounts Payable Assistants, ensuring they meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Cash Flow Management: Contribute to effective cash flow management, ensuring that payment terms are optimized and stakeholders are well-coordinated.
- Dispute & Query Resolution: Handle complex invoice and supplier queries, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any issues promptly.
- Process Improvement: Proactively suggest and implement improvements to streamline processes, reduce errors, and enhance team productivity.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Proven experience in leading a team within an accounts payable function.
- Strong knowledge of purchase ledger and accounts payable processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage disputes effectively.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organisational skills with a methodical and accurate approach.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
