Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Salary: £28,000 to £32,000
Hybrid working: Up to 2 days a week from home after probation

As part of our growth, we're looking for a reliable and adaptable Accounts Assistant to join our friendly, small finance team.

The Role:
As an Accounts Assistant, you'll support the finance team with a variety of accounting tasks in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. You will work closely with our CFO and Finance Business Partner, helping with day-to-day financial operations, from bookkeeping and invoicing to cashflow management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Manage and reconcile bank accounts, ensuring records are up to date.
- Process supplier invoices and prepare payment runs.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
- Help manage cashflow by tracking payments and receipts.
- Support the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Work with other departments (sales, operations) to ensure accurate order and financial records.
- Assist with the implementation of new systems, including the bespoke ERP system.
- Ensure the company meets all legal requirements by maintaining accurate financial records.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in an accounts assistant role or similar is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Good understanding of Excel and accounting software.
- A proactive and adaptable attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
- A positive, can-do attitude with the ability to problem-solve and offer creative solutions.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, project-based environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal teams and external suppliers.
- A sense of humour and a desire to contribute to a relaxed, enjoyable work environment.
