Job Description

Communications & Engagement Specialist

Leicester – Factory Based Monday–Friday | 8:30am–5:00pm (flexibility available) Permanent

Macildowie are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, family-feel organisation in Leicester to recruit a Communications & Engagement Specialist to join their People Team.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role within a large operational site. It is ideal for someone with an HR background who has a passion for colleague engagement, wellbeing and internal communications — not commercial marketing.

If you enjoy being present on the shop floor, bringing initiatives to life and making a real impact on employee experience, this could be a fantastic opportunity.

The Role

Reporting into the People Business Partner, you will sit between Admin and Manager level and take ownership of engagement and internal communications across site.

This role is operationally visible and requires confidence working within a factory environment.

Key responsibilities include:

· Delivering and evolving the site Health & Wellbeing plan

· Executing wellbeing initiatives and awareness campaigns

· Leading engagement campaigns and employee experience events

· Producing internal newsletters and site communications

· Managing internal platforms and updating on-site notice boards

· Supporting long service awards and seasonal engagement activity

· Coordinating employee referral initiatives

· Gathering ideas from colleagues across the shop floor

· Supporting the annual staff survey and driving participation

This is a practical role where execution is key — taking existing plans and bringing them to life in an engaging, meaningful way.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

· Has a background within HR or People functions

· Has experience in internal communications or employee engagement

· Is confident working within an operational or factory-based environment

· Is creative and comfortable using tools such as Canva

· Can write clearly and confidently for different audiences

· Is proactive, organised and comfortable working at pace

· Enjoys being visible and building relationships across site

A car driver is essential due to the site-based nature of the role.

Why Apply?

You’ll join a supportive People Team within a business that genuinely values its workforce and welcomes grassroots ideas.

This is an opportunity to shape engagement across a large site, embed culture and deliver meaningful wellbeing initiatives that make a tangible difference to colleagues.

If this sounds like the right next step for you, please apply or contact Macildowie for a confidential discussion.
