Trainer
Salary: £27,000+ - dependant on experience
Lichfield - Onsite with travel

I am partnering exclusively with my client to recruit an experienced and proactive Trainer to join their Transport team in Lichfield.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about people development and operational excellence that thrives on designing and delivering engaging, high-impact training that genuinely improves performance and customer experience.

The Role:

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you'll take ownership of the full driver training cycle from design and coordination to delivery and evaluation. You'll ensure the driver population is fully trained, compliant, and consistently delivering exceptional service, while also supporting the company's growing digital learning agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, coordinate and deliver engaging driver training and development programmes aligned to business objectives
  • Analyse performance data (customer feedback, damages, returns) to identify training needs and propose effective solutions
  • Work collaboratively with the Transport, Health & Safety, and Depot teams to ensure a consistent approach to training
  • Plan and deliver driver inductions and refresher sessions across depots as required
  • Maintain accurate training records, reports, and digital learning content on the company LMS
  • Support the continuous improvement of the Driver Academy environment, tools, and materials
  • Conduct driver assessments, spot checks, and coaching sessions to maintain high operational and customer service standards

About You

I am looking for someone who combines strong communication and leadership skills with genuine enthusiasm for developing others. You'll be confident engaging with a range of stakeholders, analytical when reviewing performance data, and passionate about maintaining safety, compliance, and customer excellence.

You'll need to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience designing and delivering training, ideally within Transport, Logistics or Home Delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to inspire and engage others
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety and safe driving practices
  • Good IT skills (Excel, Word, e-learning platforms)
  • Flexibility to work across split shifts and travel occasionally between depots
  • Full UK driving licence (less than 3 points)

Desirable:

  • Driver assessor experience, final mile/home delivery background, or QC knowledge.
