Macildowie are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, values-led manufacturing organisation in Melton Mowbray to recruit a People Advisor to join their site-based People Team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and enjoys partnering closely with managers to drive performance, engagement and positive culture. There is genuine potential for this role to become permanent.
The Role
As People Advisor, you will act as a trusted partner to managers across the business, providing proactive and commercially focused HR support across the full employee lifecycle.
This is a visible, hands-on role where you will balance day-to-day employee relations with engagement initiatives, recruitment support and data-led decision making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing employee relations cases end-to-end including absence, conduct, performance and grievances
- Coaching and advising managers on best practice people management
- Supporting recruitment activity, onboarding and agency liaison
- Championing colleague engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives
- Supporting organisational change and workforce planning
- Contributing to internal communications and colleague forums
- Supporting the delivery and follow-up of People surveys
- Maintaining accurate HR systems and records in line with employment legislation
- Using People data and insights to inform business decisions
- Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards
- This is an office-based role in Melton Mowbray, with flexibility around start and finish times.
About You
We are looking for a confident, pragmatic HR professional who can build credibility quickly and influence effectively within an operational setting.
You will ideally have:
- CIPD Level 3 (or working towards)
- Proven experience managing an ER caseload independently
- Strong coaching and stakeholder management skills
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience within manufacturing, food production or a fast-paced environment (desirable)
- Strong IT skills including MS365 and HR systems
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach
