Macildowie are working with a client based in Derbyshire (which is actually on the Nottingham border) to recruit a HR Coordinator with clear progression and succession plan - on a permanent basis - the aim of this role is to eventually succeed the Head of HR!

It is not very often I get to recruit such an exciting role that are perfect for people with a small amount of HR experience or someone with a HR qualifcation or degree so I am genuinely excited to be working on this opportunity.

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (dependent on experience)
Working Arrangement: Office-based (with occasional flexibility) - please note this is not a hybrid role
Hours: 37.5 hours per week with flexible start and finish times.


This role offers far more than traditional HR administration. It has been designed as a genuine career development opportunity, with mentoring and coaching from an experienced HR leader. There is clear succession planning in place, making this ideal for someone at the early stages of their HR career who wants to grow and progress long-term.

The Role

  • You will support the full employee lifecycle, gaining exposure across a broad range of HR activities including:
  • Recruitment coordination and onboarding
  • Preparing contracts, offer letters and leaver documentation
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and systems
  • Supporting payroll preparation and month-end reporting
  • Assisting with benefits administration
  • Coordinating training and development activity
  • Providing first-line HR support to managers and employees
  • Supporting employee relations processes
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and internal policies

This is a hands-on, people-facing role. The business values visibility and relationship building, so the successful candidate will enjoy working closely with colleagues across the organisation.
About You

  • Studying towards or recently qualified in CIPD Level 3 (or equivalent experience)
  • A graduate or early-career HR professional seeking structured development
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Confident communicator who enjoys face-to-face interaction
  • Professional and discreet with confidential information
  • Ambitious, proactive and eager to take on responsibility
