About the Role
Macildowie are pleased to be working with a highly regarded regional Legal 500 firm as they continue to grow their respected Employment team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Employment Solicitor with 2–5 years’ PQE who is looking to develop their career within a successful and supportive team. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a range of clients, take ownership of your work and play an important role in the continued development of the team.
Key Responsibilities

Take responsibility for a varied caseload of employment matters, providing clear and practical advice to clients.

Support clients with issues including settlement agreements, contracts, workplace policies and other day-to-day employment matters.

Handle Employment Tribunal matters from initial instruction through to hearing, including preparing pleadings, managing disclosure and drafting witness statements.

Provide advice on the strengths and risks of cases and represent clients at Tribunal hearings where required.

Draft, review and advise on employment contracts, policies and procedures.

Monitor changes in employment legislation and case law, sharing relevant developments with clients through updates, briefings and training.

Develop trusted relationships with clients and ensure they receive a responsive, commercial and high-quality service.

Take an active role in developing new and existing client relationships and supporting business development initiatives.

Work closely with Partners, Senior Associates and other members of the team to deliver an effective service to clients.

Contribute positively to the wider team and the ongoing growth of the firm's Employment practice.
About You
We are looking for an Employment Solicitor who is confident managing their own work and is keen to continue developing their career.
You will ideally have:

2–5 years’ PQE gained within Employment Law.

Qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales, with a current practising certificate.

Experience managing your own caseload and dealing with a range of employment law matters.

The ability to understand complex information, identify the key legal issues and provide practical advice.

Good judgement and the confidence to work independently, while recognising when additional support or guidance is required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal matters clearly to clients.

Excellent attention to detail and a consistent focus on delivering high-quality work.

A friendly, approachable manner and the ability to establish positive relationships with clients and colleagues.

A proactive approach, with a willingness to take ownership and contribute beyond your immediate responsibilities.

An interest in developing your legal expertise and getting involved in the growth and development of the wider practice.
