Macildowie are working with this client based in Melton to recruit a Security Support Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established organisation within the education sector, playing an important role in maintaining a safe, positive and supportive environment for students and staff.
Salary: £12.77 per hour - £13.03 per hour
Type: Temporary, 1-3 months Full Time
Working Arrangement: On-site
The Role
Working within a busy college environment supporting students aged 16+, you will be responsible for helping to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming campus.
This is a varied, people-focused position where you will need to combine a confident approach to security and behaviour management with the ability to build positive relationships with young adults.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring student behaviour across the campus and promoting adherence to policies and expected standards
- Responding calmly and professionally to incidents, concerns and emergency situations
- Supporting colleagues during challenging student interactions
- Building positive relationships with students to encourage respectful and responsible behaviour
- Helping to maintain a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Maintaining a visible and approachable presence across the campus
- Supporting the general operation and maintenance of campus facilities and grounds
- Contributing to a positive overall experience for students, staff and visitors
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident, approachable and able to remain calm when dealing with challenging situations.
You may already have experience within security, education, facilities, public services, student support or another customer-facing environment where managing difficult situations has been part of your role.
You will ideally demonstrate:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence dealing with challenging behaviour and difficult situations
- A calm and professional approach
- The ability to build rapport with young adults
- Good judgement and problem-solving skills
- A strong awareness of safety, security and safeguarding
