Job Title: Commodity Manager

What's the role?
As a Commodity Manager, you will play a vital role in defining and implementing purchasing strategies to optimise costs, enhance supplier performance, and ensure the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive purchasing strategies.
- Overseeing material cost development and ensuring supplier quality and performance.
- Identifying and executing independent savings and optimisation opportunities.
- Actively engaging in benchmarking, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, value analysis, and standardisation.
- Conducting effective contract negotiations with suppliers and drafting contracts.
- Qualifying new suppliers and managing relationships with existing ones, driving their development.
- Minimising risks in purchasing and the supply chain for smooth operations.
- Assuring quality and conducting risk assessments.

What do we need from you?
- An electronic components background would be advantageous however not essential.
- Proven experience within a Procurement function, managing spends of £25M+ with a cost-oriented approach.
- A strategic background with an understanding of how global businesses operate.
- SAP experience.
- A high degree of commitment, customer orientation, flexibility, reliability, and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
- A confident and proactive appearance, capable of effectively influencing stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills to optimise procurement outcomes.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in MS Office programmes.
