We are proud to be recruiting for an Indirect Buyer role for our client who is a leading engineering company that is providing an exciting opportunity add some extra firepower to the team!

With decades of experience, our client is a specialist engineering firm based in Nuneaton and this role would be perfect for someone with a strong indirect experience, with responsibility covering categories such as, but not limited to: IT, Utilites, PPE, MRO, FM and Energy. You will have a strong commercial acumen and Procurement background and you will be tenacious, adaptable and able to hold your own in any environment. CIPS Level 4 or working towards is desirable, but we are open to looking at similar qualifications.

You will be responsible for end-to-end procurement across a range of categories and you ensuring that everything is procured to get the best cost, terms and rebates. You will help ensure that all company and procurement strategies are implemented effectively throughout and work cross-functionally across a number of projects, where experience working in projects would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

• Implement procurement strategy across categories
• Commercial support to purchasing and engineering, working with best practise
• Lead and conduct negotiation with stakeholders and suppliers on new and existing categories and products
• Manage costs, terms, contracts with stakeholders and suppliers
• Weekly project progress updates and reports to management
• Develop relationships with suppliers, working on all commercial aspects
• Act in a support role to cover wider team in various functions
• Split focus on strategic procurement and operational purchasing
• React to changes in the wider macro and micro environment

Ideal Candidate:

• 3+ Years within Procurement
• Indirect experience desirable
• Engineering, Automotive, Manufacturing or Defence background ideal, but others accepted
• Experience working across the end-to-end procurement process and tenders
• Strong commercial acumen
• Proven track record
• CIPS Level 4+
• Strong IT Proficiency
