Job Description

We are pleased to be recruiting for an Operations Team Leader for our client who provides specialist services to a number of clients and is looking to support their team for the next period of growth.

The role, based in Kettering, will be supporting specialist customers across their Supply Chain activities, so someone looking for a varied role with a background to match would be ideal. You would have a team of co-ordinators and analysts under your watchful eye, so experience managing a small team is highly desirable.

Team performance under a number of key metrics would be your responsibility, and motivating the team and monitoring progress will also be key facets of your role.

The role is covering for maternity leave and expected to run between 12-15 months, but there is potential for the role to become permanent after a strong performance!

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading, engaging and managing a small team of Supply Chain Co-ordinators and Analysts
  • Proactively support the team's learning and development both technically and commercially
  • Manage the performance of the team members through setting objectives, monitoring, and reviewing progress and completion of monthly one to one staff assessment.
  • Identify areas for new training/upskilling
  • Assisting management with hiring processes and new team member training
  • Assisting the management with identifying succession planning within the Team
  • To Support the Head of Department and to perform management duties when the HOD is absent or out of the office as and when required.
  • Conducts Team Meetings to update employees on best practices and continuing expectations
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workloads to ensure personal and departmental deadlines are adhered to
  • Review performance against the key metrics and ensure regular communication with your team to facilitate feedback and manage expectations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in a team leader or similar managerial position
  • Strong Excel and IT skills from an operations background
  • Excellent motivation and communication skills
  • Organised
  • Efficient
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ideally experience using accounting software, such as Quickbooks, Xero or Sage
