Procurement Buyer - Far East & Europe
Onsite / In Office - Burton on Trent
Up to £38,000 per annum

Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are in search of a proactive Procurement professional with exceptional skills to join our partner. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong negotiation skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a sharp commercial though process. Previous experience in procurement is essential, with a comprehensive understanding of shipping, imports, and exports contracts. Far East sourcing experience is a must.

Role Overview:
As a Procurement Buyer, you will play a pivotal role within our partners Purchasing team, reporting directly to the Group Purchasing Manager. Collaborating closely with another UK-based Buyer and a dedicated Purchasing Assistant, you will drive their procurement strategy forward, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
- Source and select suppliers through strategic sourcing methods, evaluating supplier performance and negotiating contracts to secure favourable terms.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organisational objectives, optimising cost savings and supplier relationships.
- Analyse market trends and industry dynamics to identify potential risks and opportunities, proactively mitigating supply chain disruptions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Finance, Logistics, and Quality Assurance to streamline procurement processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, assessing key metrics such as delivery performance, quality standards, and pricing competitiveness.
- Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to procurement, ensuring compliance across all purchasing activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, seeking out innovative solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Lead contract negotiations and manage contractual agreements with suppliers, ensuring adherence to contractual terms and conditions.

Requirements:
- Far East sourcing experience is essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
- Keen attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Proven track record in procurement or supply chain management.
- Familiarity with shipping, imports, and exports contracts.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in relevant procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).
