Junior Buyer - Up to £34,000 Per Annum - Sutton-in-Ashfield
Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm - Hybrid Working Available

Macildowie Procurement is delighted to have partnered with a well-established manufacturing organisation based in Sutton-in-Ashfield to recruit a Junior Buyer.

The key objective is to work closely with the Head of Procurement, supporting them with stock forecasting, negotiating with suppliers and building relationships with internal stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure stock availability aligns with the production schedule.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in future demand planning based on seasonal activities.
  • Provide input on projected inventory and availability levels, raising alerts for potential issues.
  • Ensure accurate visibility on planned product arrivals for assigned SKUs.
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers, whilst monitoring supplier performance.
  • Manage and conduct tendering processes.
  • Prepare and maintain stock reports.
  • Raise routine purchase orders for production stock and ad hoc requirements, focusing on best quality, price, and delivery.
  • Administer inbound deliveries and organise inbound transport as needed.
  • Monitor and expedite order deliveries, reporting any supplier delivery issues.
  • Maintain and improve the purchasing relationship with suppliers, ensuring materials meet specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.


The Candidate

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a Material Planning or Procurement focused position.
  • Able to travel to Sutton-in-Ashfield.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office user including Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Nav - Desirable.
