Macildowie are delighted to be partnering with an organisation based in Derby who are looking to appoint a Category Manager to support the growing team.
Category Manager Remit
You will be leading the full procurement life cycle, from tendering and contract negotiation to stakeholder management and supplier performance, all while ensuring compliance with public sector regulations.
The role will be expected to lead tendering processes, including all aspects of the procurement cycle into developing the contractual relationship and ensure the maximum value is extracted. The role will ensure that excellent procurement governance is applied and the procurement standards are maintained in line with company policies and procedures.
The role will work closely with a number of key stakeholders across the business and Central Government organisations. The role will be expected to lead stakeholder meetings and ensure compliance of policies and regulations through governance within the business. If you are an existing Category Manager or have previous experience as a Procurement Manager/ Procurement Officer looking to step up this could be the role for you.
Minimum Requirements:
- More than 1 years experience of Public sector procurement within the last 10 years at a comparable level
- Experience and ability to complete a procurement process from end to end independently
- Experience of contractual agreements and development of terms to be able to deliver a robust commercial position
- Strong analytical skills to analyse complex spend data
- Good level of knowledge in IT systems, including e-procurement systems and Microsoft suite

- Hybrid working - 3 days based on site - flexibility to come in more if wanted
- 32 days annual leave rising to 34 after 2 years
