Corporate PR Manager

Birmingham, hybrid

Up to £42,000

Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00

Macildowie are working with a leading professional services business based in Birmingham.
Reporting into the Senior External Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing the public relations, media relations and press office activity for the Corporate Platform of the business. You will work both strategically and tactically to ensure proactive and reactive communications support, aligning to business plans and communications objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the media relations strategy and plan, including press office management for the Corporate Platform.
  • Handle reactive media requests and support reputation/issues management alongside the Communications Director.
  • Identify news‑agenda driven opportunities and engage with print and online media (regional, national, trade sector) including thought‑leadership and commentary placement.
  • Produce high quality content (press releases, articles, case studies, thought‑leadership pieces) and build a library of case‑studies showcasing cross‑selling capabilities.
  • Create engaging content for social media channels, edit fee‑earner articles and ensure approval processes are adhered to.
  • Build and maintain a network of journalist and stakeholder relationships, conduct press briefings for fee‑earners, and manage awards submissions for the Corporate Platform.
  • Work with internal teams to develop photography and video content for PR, media relations, internal communications and investor‑relations.
  • Measure and evaluate PR/media activities and demonstrate ROI, ensuring alignment with the Responsible Business strategy.
  • Take a consultative, client‑service approach to internal stakeholders across the Corporate Platform as though in a PR consultancy environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in media relations and press office management within professional services (ideally legal/consulting) or related sectors.
  • Excellent written communication skills (grammar, punctuation, tone) and attention to detail.
  • Strong time‑management, ability to work to deadlines, proactive mindset, initiative.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior fee‑earners, external media, internal stakeholders and wider marketing/BD teams.
