PR and Communications Officer

Working Pattern: Minimum 2 days per week in the office (flexible based on business needs)
Contract: Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours
Department: Marketing & Engagement Reporting to: Head of Communications

About the Role

As the PR and Communications Officer, you will play a key role in shaping how they communicate with audiences both inside and outside the organisation. You'll be involved in everything from media relations and press activity to content creation, internal communications, and supporting their sports teams with high quality video and photography.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain broad experience across PR, content and digital communications, with exposure to leading athletes and major sporting events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clear and engaging communications to external audiences.
  • Lead proactive media relations, build strong journalist relationships and manage press enquiries.
  • Produce high quality written and video content for a range of platforms.
  • Manage internal communications, including newsletters, team briefings and digital updates.
  • Maintain and update website content, ensuring information is accurate and user journeys are effective.
  • Support content creation at events, including photography, videography and interviews.
  • Edit video and imagery using Adobe tools (Premiere Pro, Photoshop) or similar.
  • Evaluate content performance and support campaign planning and delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with sport, club and safe aquatics teams on integrated communication activity.

What you'll bring:

  • Experienced in PR, communications and media relations.
  • Skilled in creating compelling written, visual and video content.
  • Confident using CMS platforms, social media and email marketing tools.
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines with strong project management skills.
  • A strong communicator with excellent attention to detail and proofreading ability.
  • Proactive, positive and confident taking ownership of tasks.
  • Flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends (with time off in lieu).
  • Experience working with the sports or a personal passion within this (desirable)
