Aftersales Area Manager
Job Description
Aftersales Area Manager South West & South Coast
Leading Automotive OEM | Field-Based | Salary + Car + Bonus
Our client, a globally recognised automotive manufacturer, is seeking an Aftersales Area Manager to take ownership of a high-potential region covering 12 dealerships across the South West and South Coast.
This is a rare opportunity to join a structured, professional OEM environment and make a visible, measurable impact. The region currently sits mid-table nationally, with significant untapped opportunity across several dealer groups, making this a genuine "build it and own it" role for the right commercially-minded operator.
The Role
Reporting into the National Aftersales Manager, you'll act as the key commercial interface between the manufacturer and its retail network, driving performance through coaching, challenge and data-led decision making, not simply relationship maintenance.
You'll be responsible for:
- Setting and agreeing dealer targets and development plans, monitoring delivery against national KPIs
- Driving performance across Parts Sales, Service Plan Sales, PM Visits, Extended Warranty/Retention Products and Customer Satisfaction (CSI)
- Identifying training needs and coaching dealer principals and service teams to improve commercial performance
- Implementing electronic health check (eVHC) processes to maximise upsell opportunity
- Producing detailed performance analysis and accurate weekly/bi-weekly forecasting
- Constructively challenging underperformance and influencing senior stakeholders, including ownership groups and multi-site operators
- Acting as an escalation point for customer issues where required
What Success Looks Like
This role has evolved beyond traditional account management. The successful candidate will be a proactive business partner, someone who can interpret data, identify root causes, and take dealers on a genuine performance improvement journey, while still building trust and credibility on-site.
About You
- Proven aftersales leadership experience, ideally with multi-site or area responsibility
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset, confident working with data and forecasting
- Comfortable challenging senior stakeholders and holding dealers accountable, without losing the relationship
- Excellent communication, coaching and negotiation skills
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be based within the South West / South Coast region given the travel demands of the role
- Manufacturer/OEM experience is desirable but not essential, we are equally interested in strong operators from dealer or independent backgrounds who can demonstrate genuine commercial rigour and the ability to operate in a structured corporate environment
