Export Area Sales Manager

Job Description

Macildowie are working with an esteemed industrial business, who are seeking a dynamic External Sales expert to join the team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, this role allows for remote work or from the office, located in Rugby. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in driving sales for expanding overseas business.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage existing export distributor accounts and build strong relationships.
  • Develop new business with export distributors.
  • Coordinate and oversee customer machine demonstrations
  • Attend industry-related exhibitions occasionally.
  • Engage in overseas travel, averaging approximately one week per month.
  • Provide detailed technical guidance and justifications to potential export customers.
  • Prepare comprehensive sales documentation, including quotations, sales orders, and order acknowledgements.
  • Lead final negotiations and successfully close sales.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasting using our established CRM system.
  • Regularly update the CRM system with export contacts.
  • Provide support for regular direct marketing and social media initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in selling capital equipment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Personable with a proactive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and occasionally stay away from home as needed.
  • Self-disciplined with the capacity to work autonomously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexible location, with a preference for proximity to [Your Client's Name] offices in Rugby.
  • Full UK driving license.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience in export sales to end users and/or distributors.
  • Minimum of 5 years in capital sales.
  • German speaking
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Familiarity with the sales use of social media platforms, such as Linkedin.
  • Engineering qualification HND/equivalent or higher is advantageous.
