Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Control Manager to join a well-established business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of a credit function, lead a small team, and play a key role in improving cash flow, reducing financial risk, and driving continuous process improvements.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the credit control department, ensuring outstanding debt is collected efficiently while maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting the wider business.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach and develop a small Credit Control team, driving performance and continuous improvement.

Oversee the day-to-day running of the credit control function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt.

Review and enhance existing credit control processes to improve efficiency and reduce financial risk.

Monitor customer payment trends, assess risk, and recommend appropriate actions where required.

Manage customer credit limits, account holds and payment plans, ensuring commercially sound decisions are made.

Produce and present monthly KPI reports, providing insight into performance and recommending actions to achieve business targets.

Forecast short and medium-term cash collections to support wider business cash flow planning.

Ensure customer insurance levels, retention of title documentation and payment terms are maintained accurately.

Oversee the allocation of cash receipts against customer accounts.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a key point of contact for credit-related matters.

Manage escalated debt recovery matters, including working through appropriate legal channels where necessary.

Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to support commercial objectives while protecting the organisation from unnecessary financial risk.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

A minimum of three years' experience managing a Credit Control team within a medium-sized business.

Strong knowledge of credit control, debt collection and credit risk management.

The ability to balance commercial opportunities with financial risk.

Experience reviewing and improving credit control processes.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Strong analytical skills with experience producing and interpreting KPI reports.

A proactive, hands-on management style with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

Experience using Microsoft NAV or a similar ERP/accounting system would be advantageous.
