Warehouse Operations Manager – Up to £50,000 Per Annum - Alfreton
Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
Macildowie Logistics has exclusively partnered with an FMCG focused business in Alfreton to recruit a Warehouse Operations Manager.
The key objective is to lead a warehouse team to drive standards and improve efficiencies. Overseeing daily facility activities, including optimise storage space, inventory control, staff supervision, shipping, receiving and safety compliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, packing of products.
- Monitor and analyse warehouse performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, and inventory accuracy, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead and collaborate with warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance review.
- Develop and implement warehouse operating procedures and standards to optimise efficiency and productivity.
- Carry out thorough inventory management practices, including accurate tracking of stock levels, conducting regular cycle counts, and coordinating with purchasing and logistics teams to maintain adequate inventory levels.
- Manage warehouse equipment and facilities, including routine maintenance and repairs, to ensure optimal functionality.
- Forklift activities – loading/unloading/receiving/replenishment.
- Maintain standards of Health and Safety, Hygiene and Security throughout the warehouse, including key holder responsibilities.
- Maximise floor space and vertical height using proper racking, shelving and storage systems.
- Design clear, logical travel paths for products to minimise backtracking and bottlenecks.
- Establish distinct functional areas for receiving, sorting, bulk storage, picking, packing and shipping.
The Candidate
- Previous experience operating in Warehouse Manager roles or similar.
- Familiar with WMS and bar coding systems.
- Experience operating forklifts.
- Able to travel to Alfreton.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lead a team and drive standards in the warehouse.
