Macildowie are working with this client based in Leicester on an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Adviser to join a growing professional services business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to become part of a supportive and well-established team, working with a varied portfolio of clients across a broad range of sectors. As Payroll Adviser, you will take ownership of payroll processing for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance and an excellent service standard throughout. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, can manage deadlines confidently and takes pride in delivering a reliable payroll service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing, processing and managing payrolls for a varied client base
  • Setting up new starters and processing leavers accurately
  • Inputting payroll data and carrying out calculations
  • Processing statutory payments
  • Submitting real time information to HMRC
  • Calculating pension figures and supporting Auto Enrolment compliance
  • Making declarations to The Pensions Regulator and uploading information to pension dashboards
  • Managing year-end returns and P60s
  • Registering new clients for PAYE
  • Handling payroll-related correspondence from HMRC
  • Supporting clients with payroll queries by phone and in person
  • Managing workload effectively to meet deadlines

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience within a payroll environment
  • Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation
  • Experience of Auto Enrolment processes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Experience with Sage 50cloud Payroll would be advantageous
  • Relevant payroll or accounting qualifications would be beneficial
