System Implementation & Architecture Lead

- Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + company bonus & benefits
The Opportunity:
- Are you an accomplished technical leader who thrives on delivering large-scale system implementations?
- We're looking for a System Implementation & Architecture Lead to take end-to-end ownership of a major ERP implementation, driving the technical vision, leading project delivery, and defining the long-term system architecture.
- This role is ideal for someone who combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic project leadership, ensuring that complex systems are designed, implemented, and embedded successfully across the organisation.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the Implementation
- Take full technical ownership of a large-scale ERP implementation from initiation to post-go-live.
- Define project scope, lead planning, and ensure all technical workstreams align with the wider implementation strategy.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, managing internal stakeholders and external delivery partners to achieve project milestones.
Shape the System Architecture
- Design and recommend robust, scalable IT system architectures that meet business needs.
- Define integration approaches, non-functional requirements, and performance standards.
- Oversee the overall technology landscape, ensuring consistency, maintainability, and future scalability.
Provide Strategic & Technical Direction
- Advise senior stakeholders on technology decisions, architecture roadmaps, and implementation strategy.
- Translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions and clearly communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Guide application scoping activities, identifying dependencies, integration points, and long-term technical enablers.
Ensure Quality & Governance
- Lead architecture risk reviews and technical assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain quality and compliance standards, ensuring systems meet security, usability, and performance targets.
- Continuously assess opportunities for optimisation and improvement within the technical landscape.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven project leadership experience in large-scale system implementation (ERP or similar).
- Deep understanding of IT system design, architecture principles, and integration methodologies.
- Experience managing complex technology landscapes, including cloud platforms (Azure / AWS).
- Strong ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders, aligning technical direction with business strategy.
- Expertise in application scoping, data migration planning, and change management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are desirable.
