Job Description

Sales Administrator - Engineering Business
Location: Coventry
Salary: £25,000
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Working Arrangement: Office-based

Macildowie are working with this client based in Coventry to recruit a Sales Administrator for an innovative and expanding engineering business.

This position is central to the sales support function and offers a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced and collaborative team. You'll support the full sales cycle, from enquiry through to delivery, working closely with teams across sales, operations, and engineering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for customers, providing updates and technical product information

  • Preparing and issuing quotations, orders, and invoices

  • Supporting the sales team with meeting coordination, inbox management, and CRM updates

  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure order timelines are met

  • Maintaining accurate records, sales forecasts, and reporting tools

  • Processing purchase orders and assisting with materials tracking

  • Delivering aftersales support including warranty queries and returns

  • Assisting with tender documentation and large-scale pricing submissions

  • Providing wider administrative support to the business as needed

Ideal candidate background:

  • Experience in sales administration, order processing or customer service, preferably within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical setting

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with CRM/ERP systems such as Salesforce, SAP or Sage is a plus

  • Able to multitask and remain calm under pressure

  • A team-focused mindset with a proactive approach to customer care
