- Job Purpose This role assists in producing accounting information required to satisfy Management, Group and Legal reporting requirements. This includes cashbook postings, bank reconciliations, posting journals, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany for our Air & Ocean Ireland entity predominantly. There will also be the opportunity for the occupant of this role to take on additional tasks in both this entity and the UK entity, work on adhoc projects and expand their experience in a high-volume, fast-moving business.

- Key Accountabilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Bank Transactions
Daily cashbook postings of receipts and investigate open items
Daily cashbook postings of payments including Direct Debits
Monthly bank reconciliations for 3 bank accounts of different currencies.
Set up the payroll payments
Applying cash receipts to the appropriate customer invoice
Month end accounting
Open/close periods in Hermes
Monitor and investigate interface issues between Cargowise and Hermes
Analysis of the overheads within the P&L.
Post month end journals for accruals, prepayments
Payroll analysis and post the monthly payroll journal
Fixed assets post monthly depreciation and update the FAR
Intercompany reports and monitoring
Other
Provide bi-monthly VAT reports to external accountants
Post the VAT journal
Provide audit information where requested
Adhoc projects
This role exists in an entity acquired by CEVA which is currently being integrated, meaning there will be significant change over the coming year. This may provide opportunity to be involved in the business transformation.

- Key Working Relationships
This role sits within our Freight Air and Ocean accounting team, who are spread across Ashby, Hounslow and Ireland.
This role requires interaction with the Accounts payable team in relation to supplier invoices and payments and intercompany balances.
There will also be interaction with our O2C team in relation to customer receipts and cash allocation.
You will also have regular communication with the Branch manager in Ireland.
The role is currently hybrid with 3 days per week in the Ashby office and 2 days remotely. There will be daily interaction with other members of the Financial Accounting Team, the bulk of whom are located in Ashby, but work on different products/entities.

Essential Desirable Education & Qualifications Studying or qualified AAT Currently studying ACCA or ACA Experience Experience in a similar role

Any additional information necessary to fully describe the role:
The role will be based in Ashby and is currently hybrid with 3 days a week required in the office. Occasional travel to Hounslow may be required.
40 hours per week 8.30am to 5.30am with an hour for lunch as standard but a little flex in that.
